Conspiracy Archives (2020)
Using Mixed Reality, an archive was created of the studio processes of choreographer Margrét Sara Guðjónsdóttir in creating her 2017 performance Conspiracy Ceremony: HYPERSONIC STATES. This intense and powerful choreography was made from many hours in the studio working with reflective somatic (bodily) practices. The deep and meditative quality of the work makes it a fascinating archiving challenge: how is it possible to archive the dynamic, moving meditation of the dancers? Here you find archival design prototypes using two different Augmented Reality (AR) browsers intended to convey some of the qualities of Guðjónsdóttir’s work.
Collaborators: Susan Kozel (archival concept), Margrét Sara Guðjónsdóttir (choreographer), Jeannette Ginslov (video & editing), Keith Lim and Daniel Spikol (AR/AI). Dancers: Johanna Chemnitz, Catherine Jodoin, Laura Sigemund, Marie Topp, Suet-Wan Tsang. Soundtracks by composer Peter Rehberg. It is artistic research from the Living Archives Research Project at Malmö University. Photo: Keith Lim
